Immunodominant T-cell epitopes in the VP1 capsid protein of rhinovirus species A and C

Our results indicate a dissociation between the antibody and T-cell responses to rhinoviruses

Research

Developmental trajectories of sleep problems from childhood to adolescence both predict and are predicted by emotional and behavioral problems

Findings from this study provide empirical evidence for the heterogeneity of sleep problems and their development

Research

Secondary preventive medication use in a prevalent population-based cohort of acute coronary syndrome survivors

Longer time since last acute coronary syndrome admission was associated with dispensing fewer medications types and combinations in 2008

Research

Breastfeeding and motor development: A longitudinal cohort study

Early life feeding practices have an influence on motor development outcomes into late childhood and adolescence independent of sociodemographic factors

Research

Investigating the relationship between environmental factors and respiratory health outcomes in school children using the forced oscillation technique

The significance of both indoor and outdoor sources of air pollution and effect modifiers such as green space and heating require further investigation

Research

Rhinovirus C is associated with wheezing and rhinovirus A is associated with pneumonia in hospitalized children in Morocco

We aimed to describe the distribution of RV species and associations between RV species and clinical features in children hospitalized with clinically severe pneumonia in Morocco

Research

Endocrine and metabolic consequences due to restrictive carbohydrate diets in children with type 1 diabetes: An illustrative case series

We describe a series of 6 cases where adoption of a low carbohydrate diet in children impacted growth and cardiovascular risk factors with potential long-term sequelae.

Research

Altered regulatory T-cell fractions and Helios expression in clinically isolated syndrome: clues to the development of multiple sclerosis

These results indicate that T regulatory (Treg) and follicular T regulatory (Tfr) impairment is an early feature in MS.

Creating community indicators for early childhood development: challenges and innovations from the kids in communities study

The community (or neighbourhood) is seen as a potential point of intervention for improving early childhood development outcomes through place-based approaches targeting all children. Yet there are insufficient robust data to guide policy and practice. Developing community factors for early childhood development is one way to facilitate more informed, evidence-based community action. This paper discusses the methodological learnings from the Kids in Communities Study, an Australian investigation into community-level factors important for early childhood development, including some of the challenges and innovations associated with the measurement and development of indicators.
